Old Man Party Details

THE BIG NEWS: So Todd is reluctantly turning 60 and we are having a party.

We’re hositng an old school party, given the occasion. Burgers and dogs, a keg of ‘Gansett in a slush of ice water, snacks, cornhole, you politely nodding your head through one of my wildly entertaining fish stories and such. Basically, an afternoon with a small circle of good friends who mean a lot to me.

Fake News:

  • When: Sunday, July 19, 2026.
  • Place: 30 George Street, Wakefield, RI. It’s the house with a clam shell driveway and big dead tree out front. Hard to miss.
  • Time. Well, we will see what happens. Party runs from 2 to 8pm. It is a school night so worker bees may head home after a while then we’ll have a few hardier folks (Tony) who won’t let a keg go warm then I’ll remind everyone we have neighbors and I may wake up to find a few stragglers on the couch spooning with Arlo T. Dog and all my bourbon bottles drained. Nothing would make me happier.
  • Parking: Please park in the Town Hall or St. Francis Church parking lots. There is a path to our house (yes, the same one that my father reminds me also leads back to the church.) Our dead end street already is the busiest in town so avoid the door scratches and park over there. We will have some driveway and street parking here on George Street if you have a very clean and expensive European car that makes us look good to our neighbors. Valet parking and walkers will be available for my 70th.
  • Chow. We will have a traditional assortments of meats on the grill and vegetarian offerings as well. Of course we will share venison and seafood, salads, chips, soda, water, champagne, etc. Lord knows we can’t do most anything around here without champagne. There is no need to bring anything unless there’s a special something you like to drink.
  • Music. I have carefully curated a three hour cassette tape loop of classic Grateful Dead guitar jams woven with extended drum solos, so we are all set for tunes.
  • PRESENTS. NOT ALLOWED. Seriously. We are blessed and would rather you just came to our dusty house and had some fun without the burden of pacing the Amazon aisles for just the right gift for a grumpy guy and we all know Alison already has a trophy husband, so she’s good. Arriving with something called “a little something” will not work. None Shalll Pass. Skip the gift and bring a chair.
  • RSVP.  Please let Alison know by July 3rd or so if you can join us. 401.487.1501
  • So please, step over our sluggish guard dog, join us for as long as you can, relearn how to pump a keg, bend a paper plate with good food and absolutely have a few laughs at my expense.  Who knows how many more circles around the sun there may be for all of us so,

See you on the nineteenth.
