“Conservation equivalency sucks,” was Peter jenkins’ opener, which certainly seized the crowd’s attention at the monthly Narragansett Surfcasters meeting. Surfcasting author Dennis Zambrotta followed with stories of fishing Block Island for big bass from decades past and this past Fall.
Striped bass are under recreational and commercial pressure and subject to changing regulations. We here at Fish Wrap are saying no to transferring striper quotas as a way to circumvent conservation efforts. If one area did not catch their quota, that’s great for the stripers. See you next year.
